Product Details
Sodium Methallylsulfonate (SMAS) is a functional monomer that contains sulfonic acid groups. It usually presents as white crystalline powder or granular crystals, while certain products are also available in the form of white flakes. This compound is nearly odorless, and its aqueous solution is clear and transparent.
Product Usage
As a functional monomer with sulfonic acid groups, Sodium Methallylsulfonate is mainly used in the production of polycarboxylate concrete superplasticizers, which helps to enhance concrete performance. Besides, it can be used as a third monomer in the production of acrylic fibers, improving their dyeing properties and heat resistance.
