p-Anisaldehyde (4-methoxybenzaldehyde) is a premium aromatic aldehyde, presented as a colorless to pale yellow transparent liquid at ambient temperature, featuring a pleasant sweet hawthorn-like floral scent.
Its solubility profile: sparingly soluble in water (0.3% approx), slightly soluble in propylene glycol and glycerol, freely soluble in ethanol, ether, acetone, chloroform and most organic solvents. The product is steam distillable, which facilitates formulation and purification processes for end users.
This compound naturally occurs in fennel oil, cumin oil, dill oil, acacia flowers and bitter melon extracts. Our commercial grade is manufactured through strict oxidation, separation and purification procedures, delivering consistent purity and stable batch-to-batch quality for industrial applications.
It is a versatile raw material widely adopted in the flavor & fragrance sector. It serves as a core base note for hawthorn, sunflower and lilac fragrances. It is also an excellent blender for fresh grass, white acacia and balsam grass aromas. It works perfectly as an auxiliary material for lily of the valley formulations and a modifier to enrich osmanthus scent profiles.
Apart from fragrance use, it is an important intermediate for organic synthesis and a standard staining reagent for TLC detection in laboratories.
