Product Description of 4-Methylbenzenesulfonhydrazide (CAS No.: 1576-35-8)
p-Toluenesulfonyl hydrazide, also known as 4-methylbenzenesulfonylhydrazide, is a white crystalline powder. It is easily soluble in alkali, soluble in methanol, ethanol, and butanone, slightly soluble in water and aldehydes, and insoluble in benzene and toluene.
It is commonly used as a foaming agent for natural rubber, synthetic rubber, and various plastics, facilitating the formation of fine, closed-cell structures in rubber and plastic products. These products feature low shrinkage and high tear resistance. Additionally, it acts as an important intermediate in organic synthesis, particularly in the manufacturing of pharmaceuticals and pesticides.
