Styrenated phenol CAS#61788-44-1

CAS Number: 61788-44-1

Chemical Formula: C₃₀H₃₀O

Alternative Names: 2,4,6-Tris-(1-Phenyl-Ethyl)Phenol, Styrolized Phenol, Styrenated Phenol mixture

Appearance: Yellow viscous liquid

Brief Introduction:

Styrenated Phenol is a classic hindered phenolic antioxidant, extensively used in natural rubber, various synthetic rubbers, plastic polymers, industrial lubricants and adhesive systems. It provides long-term efficient stabilization to resist thermo-oxidative ageing, photo-degradation as well as flex cracking during long-term service of finished goods.

This antioxidant boasts superior compatibility with most elastomer and polymer substrates, enabling homogeneous dispersion during mixing and processing. It features low staining tendency, low volatility and excellent anti-blooming property, which will not generate surface precipitation on final products under regular processing and storage conditions. It can be used alone or combined with other auxiliary anti-ageing agents to achieve synergistic anti-oxidation effects.

Under normal room temperature and atmospheric pressure, this product is a uniform, transparent viscous liquid, presenting a color range from light yellow to amber. It boasts stable physical properties, with no precipitation, layering or impurities after long-term storage, ensuring good fluidity for industrial batching and processing. The product has excellent solubility in common industrial organic solvents, featuring full and uniform dissolution in ethanol, acetone, aliphatic hydrocarbons, aromatic hydrocarbons and trichloroethane. This favorable solubility allows it to disperse quickly and evenly during raw material mixing, effectively avoiding agglomeration and uneven distribution, and stabilizing the performance of finished products. In contrast, it is almost insoluble in water and will not dissolve or emulsify in aqueous environments. This low hydrophilicity prevents performance degradation and raw material loss caused by moisture exposure, improving the water resistance and environmental stability of rubber, polymer and adhesive finished products. With reliable physical characteristics and great formula compatibility, it adapts well to conventional industrial production processes and mass manufacturing requirements.

Product Application of Styrenated Phenol (CAS: 61788-44-1)

Tri-Styrylphenol, commonly known as Styrenated Phenol Antioxidant SP10, is a high-efficiency multifunctional hindered phenolic additive tailored for polymer and rubber industrial systems. Its comprehensive application performance is highly flexible and adjustable, which is mainly determined by the scientific monomer and para-position proportion inside its molecular structure. The unique mono/para ratio endows the product with balanced antioxidant activity, excellent dispersion performance and superior compatibility, enabling it to adapt to diversified formula systems and complex industrial processing conditions. Serving as a classic thermal and oxygen stabilizer, this product is widely applied in natural rubber, synthetic rubber, various plastic resins, industrial lubricants, adhesives and polymer composite materials. It can effectively inhibit thermo-oxidative aging, photo-oxidative degradation and mechanical flex cracking of finished products during long-term storage and service, significantly extending the service life of rubber and plastic products. In addition, it features low volatility, slight discoloration and no surface blooming, which will not affect the appearance, color and basic physical properties of finished materials. It can be used independently or compounded with other auxiliary antioxidants and stabilizers to form a synergistic protection system, greatly improving the overall anti-aging effect and product stability.
