Product Details
Product Description of Dioctyl Sebacate (CAS No.: 122-62-3)
Dioctyl sebacate, also referred to as bis(2-ethylhexyl) sebacate (DOS), is manufactured via the esterification reaction of sebacic acid and 2-ethylhexanol. It demonstrates broad compatibility with polyvinyl chloride (PVC), vinyl chloride copolymers, nitrocellulose, ethyl cellulose, and synthetic rubber.
The product is characterized by high plasticizing efficiency and low volatility, along with excellent cold resistance, good heat resistance, light stability, and electrical insulation properties. Additionally, it provides good lubricity during the heating process, which helps enhance both the appearance and tactile quality of finished products.
Dioctyl sebacate is particularly suitable for the production of cold-resistant wire and cable materials, artificial leather, films, plates, and sheets.
