Methyltris(methylethylketoxime)silane is a classic oxime-type neutral crosslinking agent specially designed for one-component room temperature vulcanized (RTV-1) silicone sealants. It serves as the core neutral curing agent in silicone sealant formulations.
Generally, under ambient temperature and atmospheric moisture, this silane can efficiently react and crosslink with α,ω-silanol-terminated polydimethylsiloxanes. The vulcanization process releases methyl ethyl ketoxime without generating acidic or corrosive by-products, which avoids corrosion to metal, aluminum, coated substrates and other sensitive materials.
It is widely recognized as the preferred main crosslinker for oxime silicone sealants. This product can be applied alone to achieve stable vulcanization performance. It can also be blended and compounded with other oxime silane crosslinkers flexibly. Formulators are able to adjust comprehensive sealant properties to meet customized requirements, including surface dry time, deep cure speed, mechanical strength, elongation, substrate adhesion and shelf stability of finished sealants.
Silicone sealants adopting this crosslinker feature moderate curing rate, low shrinkage after curing, excellent weather resistance and long-term ageing resistance. End products are extensively used in construction waterproof sealing, glass assembly, electronic component sealing, industrial equipment bonding, household appliance sealing and other fields.
