2. Product Overview

Polyethylene is a flexible, waxy, translucent polyalkene thermoplastic material. Various production methods are adopted to prepare polyethylene products with different properties. In the ICI process, ethylene with a small amount of oxygen is processed under pressure over 1500 atmospheres and temperature at 200°C.Low-density polyethylene (relative density 0.92) has a molecular weight of 50,000–300,000 and softens at about 110°C. High-density polyethylene (relative density 0.945–0.96) has a molecular weight up to 3,000,000 and softens at about 130°C. Low-density polyethylene has lower crystallinity and higher atactic structure. It is widely used as electrical insulation material, features strong acid resistance, and is easy for molding and blow molding.
