Product Advantages

Unique mode of action (FRAC Group 50), interfering with fungal actin cytoskeleton development. No cross-resistance with triazoles, strobilurins and other mainstream fungicides, ideal for resistance management schemes.

Dual preventive & curative activity, effective at multiple stages of fungal life cycle; inhibits spore germination, mycelium growth and sporulation.

METRAFENONE | CAS#220899-03-6

Metrafenone is an active ingredient belonging to the benzophenone chemical class. Structurally built upon a benzophenone skeleton, the compound contains two substituted phenyl rings. One phenyl ring is substituted with methoxy groups at the 2-, 3-, and 4-positions and a methyl group at the 6-position. The second phenyl ring bears methyl, bromine and methoxy substituents at the 2-, 3-, and 6-positions correspondingly.

Functioning as a dual-action fungicide with outstanding protectant and curative properties, metrafenone is extensively applied to suppress powdery mildew diseases on cereal crops and grapevines. It features a unique mode of action categorized as FRAC Group 50, which interferes with the actin cytoskeleton formation of fungal pathogens. Unlike many conventional fungicides, it generates no cross-resistance with triazoles, strobilurins and other common fungicide varieties, making it a vital component in anti-resistance integrated disease management programmes.

The active substance inhibits the whole life cycle of powdery mildew fungi, restraining spore germination, mycelial growth and pathogen sporulation. Benefiting from translaminar activity and slight vapor-phase mobility, it achieves uniform protection across leaf surfaces and newly emerging plant tissues, delivering stable and long-lasting control efficacy under diverse field conditions.
