TriclosanCAS#3380-34-5

Excellent Thermal & UV Stability: Remains stable under high temperature up to 290°C and tolerates ultraviolet exposure, supporting extended shelf life of finished products.

Low Volatility: Features slight volatility paired with a mild floral aroma, ideal for long-service-life formulations.

Broad Solubility: Soluble in alcohols, alkaline solutions and other solvents, bringing greater flexibility to formula development.

Favorable Safety Profile: Low toxicity enables safe incorporation into a wide variety of end products.

Triclosan Physicochemical Properties

Appearance:White crystalline powder with a subtle floral and phenolic aroma.

Solubility: Slightly soluble in water, moderately soluble in dilute alkalis, and freely soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and acetone. It can dissolve in surfactants to form clear concentrated solutions.

Stability: Delivers excellent storage stability. No rapid decomposition occurs below 280–290°C. Only 2% of the active ingredient degrades after 14 hours of heating at 200°C. It suffers negligible degradation under prolonged UV irradiation, and its solutions maintain stability in both acidic and alkaline environments.

Volatility: Extremely low volatility accompanied by a light floral odor.
