2. Product Description
Sodium thiocyanate is a white rhombic crystalline compound with good solubility in water, ethanol and acetone. It has a relative density of 1.735 and a melting point of about 287℃. This substance will decompose when heated or exposed to light, releasing toxic fumes including sulfur oxides, nitrogen oxides and cyanide compounds. It shows violent reactivity when contacting with acids, strong alkalis and strong oxidizing agents. It is hygroscopic and requires proper sealed storage.
